Happy Thanksgiving!

I won't be able to post until Saturday, so I thought I'd leave you all with at least a written post for today. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you guys! I hope your day was filled with lots of love, good grace, and lots and lots and lots of food. I'm thankful for all of my viewers. You guys give me the will to continue what I'm doing and inspire me to be a better me. I'll have pictures of my thanksgiving outfit up on Saturday, so stay tuned. I guess I'll leave you guys with this for tonight. I have to get some beauty sleep before the big Black Friday rush (I'm terrified). Enjoy your days and stay safe!

I've taken a liking to combining brown and burgundy. This duo-chromatic look reminds me of Theodora from Oz. I mean I'm obviously not as hot as Mila Kunis, 'cause let's face it, she's one hell of a babe. I'm kind of in love with her. Anyway, I wore this for the Kanye concert. I took off the hat later on in the day and wore one of the tour shirts instead. That concert was AMAZING!! It was a surreal feeling knowing I was in the same room as Kanye West. I didn't get floor tickets, but I was front row and that was good enough for me. He gave a very inspiring rant that touched my heart. Ahh, I love that man. I also love this video.

Wearing American Apparel Corduroy circle skirt, American Apparel floppy hat (style not available, this one is though), Forever 21 shirt, GAP tights (love these cause they're so warm), ALDO boots, and a super old GAP bag.

Sweater Dress

Seriously loving this sweater dress trend! It's great for those lazy days that you still feel like looking cute for. I've honestly been planning this outfit out in my head for weeks and I actually bought these boots because of this outfit. I always wanted them, but the sweater dress prompted me to finally get it.

Wearing H&M sweater dress (couldn't find it on the website, but it should still be in stores), Aldo over the knee high boots, American Apparel skully, and Aldo necklace. All items should still be available in stores.

Mariana Vasconcelos

I'm going through a transitional period in my life. It's that point where I'm trying to find out who I am, what I'm passionate about, and where I'd like to go in life. Truth be told, I've struggled with this my entire life. I'm getting to the point of realization and I'm finding tranquility in the fact that I'm young, and I have so many opportunities still ahead of me. The thing that I would honestly love to do is continue with this blog, allow it to become a success, and then grow from it and maybe become a model. I always felt discouraged when it came to the thought of modeling. It's my favorite thing to do, but it has to do with luck, "the look", who you know, etc etc. I just want to push past all my mental barriers, all the negative comments I've gotten, and do what I love. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'm always open to advice. That's why I love to work with so many different people. You never know what they have to offer and what doors they can open up for you. I'm just working hard and waiting for the moment to arrive where I can stop dreaming and finally look back and say "I made it". I don't care how much work it is, or how much time it takes, I just want to look back and feel pleased with how far I've come. I'm already so grateful with the little bit that I have at this moment, but I'm not done just yet. I know there's still more to do and I can only move up at this point. And maybe I won't make it. I just want to make sure that I really did try. Okay, that's enough ranting.

I always wanted to work with my photographer friend Mariana Vasconcelos. She has her own aesthetic and it's beautiful. To top it all off, she's always been so passionate about what she's done- that always makes me want to work with a person. I was so estatic when she asked me to work with her. I fell in love with the end results. I'll post more photos up as she sends me them. I just really wanted to post up the ones I've already recieved. Thank you Mariana for an amazing experience. It was an honor to work with you.

I know I said give me two weeks to find a new job, but I found it in one. My dress code is all black and I'm in love with that. Black is the shade I feel sexy in, and this job is very big on confidence, so it works for me. I'll start working my way to finally taking photos in the city since I'll be there more. Brooklyn's cool, but Manhattan has my heart. I'm also going to post a playlist my boyfriend was so kind to put together later on in the day. We share a Spotify account and go back and forth creating playlists and trying to outshine one another. His playlist won my heart for this month.

Wearing Express fur coat (similar one here, also love this one), velvet Zara pants (similar here, and here, fell in love with these), American Apparel cropped turtleneck, Zara sweater (similar here, another cute option here), and Steve Madden Invade pumps.

If I could move anywhere in the world it'd be San Diego. They have the best weather (ever), fashion sense, music, etc. Don't get me wrong, New York has my entire heart. It'll just be nice to change things up a bit- move away from the fast paced lifestyle and chill a little. Once I'm on my feet financially, I'll definitely start looking into staying over there for a while.

This season it's all about the TARTAN! THUN THUN THUNNNNN! I always called it plaid, but apparently that's for the basics. I'm not trying to be basic anymore! This vest is my favorite recent vintage buy. As soon as I tried it on I budgeted it into my weekly spending. Oh, I don't have a job anymore! I'm taking a break to focus on my blog, myself, and what I love. Which means I have to cut back on shopping just a bit (cries). I'll end up going back to working in two weeks though, watch.

Wearing vintage tartan vest (also obsessed with this one), black Nike hoodie, Tommy Hilfiger Jeans, Tobi Halter (similar one here), and 1461 Doc Martens.

Emilio Pucci

If I could choose any designer to wear right now, it'll be Emilio Pucci. This spring 2014 ready to wear collection was beautifully put together. Pucci's runway shows normally consist of vibrant colors and multiple patterns. For this line he did a street wear meets sports wear theme without forgetting his natural elements. The athletic trend is one of my favorites for the spring, especially when it's kept polished. Pucci used his art of embellishing to contrast and compliment the sporty look. I also can't forget the belts he used to cinch in the waist. He polished up the look so well by adding a cropped tailored blazer. The one item I wish I could have in my closet right now is the red and black calf length leather pants. They have all the sass of the Michael Jackson jacket but for pants!

This blog started off as an experiment. I never thought I'd be as consistent as I've been with it so far. With that in mind, I haven't had much guidance on how to do things, I just do it. I'm trying to switch around the way things look and are set up, the colors, and I'm experimenting with photo styles and locations. Thank you to everyone who's baring with me as I figure things out. Hopefully you guys can all see my blog change and grow throughout the years, just as I will. Feel free to give advice in my comments. I actually read and appreciate every last one of them!

Now to what I'm wearing:
New York's weather has been a bit of a roller-coaster this year. During November, people should already be wearing hats and thick coats. I find myself looking at the weather more often than I've ever have. It wasn't very cold today, so a sweater was more than enough for me. Mixing textures always results in interesting pairings. I feel like my overalls are a bit rough, so I like to pair them with girly and trendy pieces. I threw on my pink creepers to keep it edgy. I love these, but it's so hard for me to find when to wear them. Rita Ora's spunky outfits influenced me to wear them this time.

Wearing Levi's overalls (old style, similar one here), H&M sweater (similar style here, also fell in love with this one), and pink Creepers.

This seasons coats

I received a question from my friend Kim about what jackets/coats would be good for the season. I went on Polyvore and put together a couple of sets of somewhat affordable and cute coats and jackets that are musts for this season. The first is the biker jacket. Naturally I think of black as a biker jacket, but I've seen so many colored ones that are just as great. The second is a cape shaped look. These give off a sophisticated look and are great to pair with trousers and pumps. Next are the furzzz! I love me some fur jackets. They have timeless elegance and an edgy vibe. I have a post coming up with a fur coat that'll hopefully give off some inspiration. Then we have the black trenches. These are just a necessity in a woman's closet. However, my favorite trend of the season is the oversized coat. These are on my must buy list. Whenever you feel basic, through on your oversized coat and you will miraculously become less basic. Last but not least, the varsity jacket. I have my varsity jacket and it's easily one of my favorite things to through on. It gives a sporty and edgy vibe to any look you have in mind. I hope you all found this post helpful! If you have fallen in love with any of these jackets/coats, the links for purchase will be listed below!

Photoshoot with Leef Parks

Just thought I'd post some photos of a photo shoot I did with my good friend Leef Parks. I definitely have a signature face I make in photos, but I feel sexy doing it! I enjoyed our photo session since it was more daring than any other shoot I have ever done. We had to climb up multiple fire escapes and trespass in order to get to some good locations. To top it all off, my boyfriend was there to support me and that means the world to me. Thank you Leef! Hope to work with you again soon.
