Navy

Winters call for oversized shirts and comfortable pants. I'm also the queen of stealing my boyfriend's clothes in the winter. I wore this number for a double date with my boyfriend and awesome friends. Normally one would go all out and dress up for a date night, but it was casual and cute enough to stay just like this. Plus, working in heels for 8 hour shifts, makes me miss wearing sneakers.

I revolved this entire outfit around my shoes. These bad boys are a bit harder to style because of the pattern. I'm just a bit obsessed with them, though. It came to mind to where white with it, but it was a bit too plain for what I was looking for. I finally opted out for doing all navy; its simple, yet edgy. I stole my boyfriend's shirt for this look. It's one of my favorite pieces in his closet right now.

Wearing: Boyfriend's Oak shirt, H&M pants from years ago, and Yohji Yamamoto aka Y-3 sneakers from Alya's closet.

Alya's Closet pt 2

Girls with baggy jeans. Girls wearing baggy jeans down the street. Girls stuntin' better than any man can in baggy jeans. I'm in love with this trend. I love the way something that a man would find unappealing on a woman, makes me feel sexy. Every day that I leave my house dressed up, I try my best to feel sexy. Regardless of what anyone has to say, I feel good with the way I look. And confidence is way sexier than any outfit I can piece together.

This outfit was put together by my baby girl Alya. I added the touch of the heels to make the look a bit more feminine. This is honestly one of my favorite outfits so far. If I could wear baggy jeans and heels everyday I would. And I can, so it looks like I'm going to start looking for some huge jeans. New York winters are pretty brutal, so sometimes it gets hard for us to find something cute that we won't freeze our butts in. All anyone on the streets really sees are our coats and shoes anyway. So winter is not really my favorite time of the year to play dress up. I'm building up my closet so that spring and summer I'm conquering the world everyday I step out of my house.

Outfit details: Zara tank top, Guess mink, G-Star jeans, and Zara pumps. Thank you Alya!!

Alya's Closet

Seems weird to be back. But guess what? I have so many things for you guys coming up. I'm excited for this year because I have found so many wonderful people and connections that can take this blog exactly where I want it to go. Just stay tuned, it's going to be a bumpy year.

I gave my amazing friend Alya the chance to style me this time around. I'm always in her closet and visa versa so it's just fate for us to work together on our wardrobes. Thanks to her, I'll be joining Poshmark soon. Now you guys can shop Shelly's Closet! Once I have all the details set up, I'll let all of you know. I'm just really looking forward to get back to blogging. I've felt so empty without it.

Without further ado, details on what I'm wearing: Givenchy Panther shirt (check out this years Panther shirt), American Apparel bottoms, Givenchy Velvet shades (love these similar ones here), and double ALDO cuffs. Although you can't see them, I wore custom Roshe runners on my feet. Can we take a second to appreciate the slick back hair? I'm really digging this look.
