"The body's response to fear, panic, or perceived threat."

There was a moment in time where I thought everything was okay, and for the most part it was. Mommy and daddy were in love. My two little brothers were young and unscarred by the truths of the world. I was madly in love. He was everything I ever lived for those days. And as for me, there was still innocence in the choices I made.

I try to tell myself things happen for a reason. I try to understand that the nature of this world doesn't allow us to skip suffering. That is why we must embrace the things that are set in our path, only push harder during our times of trial. It's okay to cry, it's okay to want to give up. Things aren't perfect. But what's the point in giving up?

You're going to give up on the rush you will feel walking up on that stage and showing off your diploma. You're going to give up on all the beautiful places you can travel to with the money you make working the job you were working towards. You're going to give up on the chance of love again, a different kind of love. The experience of motherhood? Yeah, that'll be lost too. And not to mention those four people that you grew up with and taught you how to love unconditionally, your family, and your loved ones, they're not going to experience these things with you. They'll only have dreams of what could have been.

So while you're in a rut now, try to remind yourself that it's all needed in order to become the person you are meant to be. And remember, someone out there loves you and won't mind letting you cry on their shoulder. You are never alone in this world, no one is. Stay strong, you can do this.

I'm drooling over Porsche Design's entire collection for Fall 2015. The boots, the tasteful placement of oversized waist belts, the mix of textures, the Kanye x Adidas bulletproof vest look-a-like. I can't find anything wrong with it. I took the liberty of collaging and doodling all over my favorite looks.

It's NYFW and it's beyond brick in NYC. In order to survive the night, one must master the skill of layering. I wouldn't say I'm a master of the trade, but I can share a few of the things I keep in mind. First rule, if you can't move your arms, you need a bigger coat or thinner layers. It's extremely uncomfortable to walk around with penguin arms all day. Second rule, never underestimate the combo of a fuzzy sweater and a windbreaker. You'll be surprised how amazing that combination is as a base layer. Third rule, you really need to buy a super warm sweater and gloves. It's just mandatory. If you can find a dope face mask too, I recommend you get one. Fourth (and I would like to think final rule) if you layer up properly, you don't need a super thick coat unless it's under 15 degrees. I'm calling a disclaimer on that last one because my idea of 15 degrees could be completely different from someone else's and I'm not working with any facts right now.

I hope everyone stays warm and enjoys their fashion week as much as I'm trying to. I will cover my favorite shows and looks throughout the week. All photos taken on an iPhone 6 by Julius Cesar

What's Playing this Week

I've been into creating playlists ever since MySpace days but ever since it stopped being poppin' I haven't had a place to share my music. Really glad I can do that here.nAs of my trip to Florida this weekend, I can't stop bumping to Travi$ Scott; who I won't being seeing while he performs live on Webster Hall because tickets sold out basically immediately. *Sad girl tears* Since I can't enjoy him live though, I'll keep Days Before Rodeo on repeat until I eventually get over it or find someone who no longer wants to go... any volunteers?

In other news, my instagram was hacked last week. *more sad girl tears* Feel free to follow my new one here. And with that, good luck to everyone who's starting the semester and good night.
